Look, more delurking! Well, for me, in this thread, anyway:

Driving through the streets of Georgetown in long, easy silence, we were both admiring the reds, golds, and browns of turning leaves against a cloudless, blue sky. Autumn is my favorite season, and Dave is one of my favorite people. He turned the corner onto another lovely scene, and then, at the same time, using precisely the same words and cadences, we vocalized our thoughts.

"I love the Fall!"

Stunned expressions for a split second, then laughter.

We've known each other for two decades and have a lot of shorthand that only we understand, but I love this one most.

Because books.

It's so nice to see drabbles in here again.

I'm watching too much Supernatural, though. All I can think of for "fall" is fallen angels.

Coding and Sleeping

Just popping in while I take a lunch break. Fall? Bad topic when I'm going to be on a ladder most of the day.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

erika, that's fab! Just note-perfect. I love it.

And hee, sara! It's lovely, and go new you!

All of them are great! I'm so happy to see the drabbles back.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Amy, I hope you don't mind, but your fallen angel inspired me.

Fallen

It wasn't supposed to happen this way. Not that she had planned it; there was no outline, no flowchart, no model to base this on. This new way of thinking, of feeling, of being was without rules, without boundaries, without guidelines. How could she know how to act, to react, to behave, to believe. Her world had changed around her and all had been stripped bare within her, without her. She had always been taught that God was love. But God had rules, and this love? It had no rules. To know love then, was to be without God. Fallen.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica
