Thrive to spite them

Can anyone participate even if you don't write a lot? When I was cleaning off my old computer and I found some poetry and a bit of fiction I started and it's made me want to write again. I'd love to participate in this if it's possible.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

What about a theme like "Vampires, Zombies and Things That Go Bump in the Night"?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I like the darkness theme kinda a lot. There's enough space there that we could go our separate Buffista directions without it getting too crowded in the middle.

eta: Oops! Not meaning to contradict, Ginger! I had the edit window open and was mulling.

Because books.

I have to say, I like this best, too -- or better, I should say, than something as specific as Ginger's. It simply leaves more room to interpret, as Liese says.

askye, I've already said I think this should be open to anyone who wants to contribute, with the caveat that you might be asked to revise or otherwise edit. I don't know if we're consensing on that or what we're deciding, though.

I kinda skimmed. Thanks for the clarification.

Because books.

That wasn't a "you skimmer!" smack, by the way. I'm just reiterating that *I* said that, but I'm not sure how everyone feels.

God, I suck when I type fast.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Hand!

But not the Hand. Ninjas don't write. They lurk between the lines.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

The lurkers support you in leading?

“Not dead yet!”

Yeah, with darkness as a general theme, I can go into the emotional angsty places I do well-- vampires and zombies... NSM, I'm afraid.

ETA: Not to say that the vampires and zombies aren't great themes-- they are and I know we have so many writers here who could just kick ass at it-- but for me, it would be too much like work. With a more general theme, I can be freer. But whatever works for everyone.

With vampires, etc., I was thinking about all the different ways things and people can be soul sucking and brain dead and scary and how I would expect such different takes on the concepts from this group.
