Wash: Don't fall asleep now. Sleepiness is weakness of character. Ask anyone. You're acting captain. Know what happens you fall asleep now? Zoe: Jayne slits my throat, and takes over. Wash: That's right. Zoe: And we can't stop it.

I like to think of myself as a writer. There might be a place for some nonfiction, and I did have a short story published in Asimov's and then anthologized.

What about online community as a subject?

“Not dead yet!”

I don't think that being paid or formally published should be any kind of requirement.

I do think we should avoid any fanfic (not the writers, just the fic itself) because of all the potential copyright infringement issues.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Also, I am not the boss of this, so i could be full o' shit. I just think it should be people who write, and write well.

Because books.

I would absolutely like anyone to play who feels the urge.

And I agree about fic. I mean, you could write it and change the names, I suppose, but if you're writing Star Trek, for instance, you'd have to change ... pretty much the whole setting, too.

Also? Completely not the boss of this, either. When I said I would edit it, I meant *edit* it for grammar, spelling, typos, making sure everything conforms to one general style, etc. Not picking and choosing.

oooh, so the picker and chooser role...that's the tough part. Though, I'm unsure if we'd even have enough writer interest to make it, still.

Need to think think think.

I'd also be happy to help with the copy editing.

Because books.

Well, I guess my thought is, let's let everyone contribute. I can certainly work with anyone on tightening or revising if it seems like it's ... not on a similar level with others. But I guess I'd like not to exclude anyone? Not if we're given something that fits whatever length and theme criteria we decide on.

Show of hands if you're interested, people.
