I was trying to get mac to go to sleep without the light, but have stopped trying for the moment.
I don't think I slept without having the hall light on and my door open until I was in my teens. And then I started it again when I moved into my first apartment w/out roommates in grad school. And didn't stop until 2000 when I moved into the house I own. Now I like it very dark indeed.
yeah, I realize I was being crazy with trying to get him to sleep with so little light since he has never had his own room or bed. Right now a light is dimmed outside his room and his overhead light is dimmed also.
I'd like to get blackout curtains - the ambient light from my street is pretty high. I have a white noise machine and use earplugs to sleep - hotel rooms are odd for me because of the lack of white noise.
I recently found out that IKEA has blackout shades in a wide variety of unusual sizes, which is wonderful because currently we are using tinfoil on the windows in D's room to get him to nap during the day.
I don't know what to think, but stuff goes missing all the time. Weird stuff to go missing.

ooh just talked to my contractor and there will be color going up in my kitchen/bathroom today! So I'll get to see it before I leave town. And the whole thing should be done by the time I get back in town.
I won't sleep in total darkness. We have a nightlight in our bathroom that is nice and we also leave a hall light on for night trips to the kitchen. When I stay in hotels, I leave the bathroom light on and partially close the door. I'm a 38-year-old scaredy cat!

I like to sleep in darkness. My bedroom is too light in the mornings.
