That's a very good looking futon.

Noah was not cute at 1:00 AM. Well, he was, actually, adorable but wigged out by Vegas.

Yay Dylan!

In other news, I was just wondering about the NBA playoffs, and right now it's Celtics/Pistons and Lakers/Spurs. What is this, the 80s??

One would think, but it's just not the same.

Also, Saturday night I was extremely bored and flipping between the hockey game and the basketball game, and the music choices were totally WTF? They played Men Without Hats during the hockey game, and I think I heard Journey 3 times between the two games. There was another 1980s song (which escapes me now) that made me wonder if they had even updated the arena music since 1989.

Go Dylan!

Sparky, what level was the yoga class?

It was a mixed class, advertised as being for all levels. I don't expect the instructors to spell out all the basics, but I've yet to find a yoga teacher here that offered any insight/substitutions/alternatives for people who couldn't do the full pose, even after they've heard everyone's injuries, or even come around and adjust me (I have kyphoscoliosis, so I know I'm not as straight as I think I am half the time). I think that when they introduce something new, I should hear what the goal is for my practice, and if I can't do what the teacher can do, s/he should have something else up their sleeve that will be the intermediate step to practice until I can.

I'll admit that I think of yoga as exercise, not as a meditative practice, so I'm all about what muscles I'm using.

Hey, is this a soapbox I'm standing on?

It's a grown up futon.

Short-of-leg-length people might get annoyed because the mattress I picked is so thick (almost standard mattress thickness) that when it is a couch, MY feet barely touch the ground. So it is higher than your usual couch.

I like it. Now I'm going to go sit on it, now that I'm showered (I got so sweaty gross) and fed.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Very nice, Sara!

Okay, sparky, I'm going to preach it. I have been practicing Anusara yoga since I've been doing yoga. I've ALWAYS been given modifications, how to use a prop, where we are starting and heading too and if you can't do a pose, we're always given options. And we've always been told both the meditative woowoo stuff as well as the technical alignment stuff.

When K goes with me to yoga, even though she can't get into a pose, she is almost always told what to do in lieu of things that might worsen knee injuries or the like which she already has.

So I guess I'm suggesting finding an anusara class or studio (www.anusara.com) because I've been to multiple studios in LA, SF, and even in Vegas and never not had that experience. It's part of their teacher training, I think.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yay Dylan!

Kat, I have to admit having seen strange babies I'd love to photograph. NSM with the asking, though.

In ER waiting room. Surly. Very shakey. Nowhere to hide. Phone calls and ciggies out here; basketball in there.

Sara, I'm all about the grownup futons. College gave them a bad name. Yeehaw.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yay for Dylan walking! (and warning to mommy--they get very good at it very fast!)

Oh ita! I'm sorry that you're back in the ER.

I should try to find a yoga studio near me. Hrm.
