Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

It's the "must" that she's objecting to:

Allowing single guests who aren’t attached to a significant other to bring a date is a thoughtful gesture, but one that is not required.

It is impolite of a guest to ask if he or she can bring a date—but it is not impolite of you to refuse.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The Admiral! They were definitely at least semi-finals worthy.

Oh, he definitely rocked the house (and had the longest shelf life of any of those team's stars, pretty much), but the Celtics, Lakers, and Pistons were definitely a tier above.

All pretty high up there, though.

Goddamnedfuckinghell. I can't work out if I should try the ER or not. I swear my teeth are shaking in their sockets. But dilaudid doesn't work anymore! Unsurprisingly, then, neither does sleeping or Axert or hoping or breathing mindfully.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

True.

I wouldn't go to the ER if I didn't think it would help, but I don't know about you.

Find me the right drug?

Nah, I give up. There's no point going home feeling like this. I'll just take a right instead of a left and catch a bus to the hospital instead.

Thanks, though.

It might get me a night's sleep. Which means I'm willing to pay $75 and who knows how much bodily contamination for that much pain relief.

eta: Also, not sure about driving just right now.

Okay, I'm off. See you guys from the inside. Or something. Wish me a radical recovery on the elevator ride down.

Radical Recovery-ma!

Huh. I just found out that the minor league baseball team the Albuquerque Isotopes took their name from the baseball team on The Simpsons.

eta: Cool cap logo!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

ita, I hope you can get some pain relief & sleep tonight. Fingers are crossed for a magic elevator saving you the trip to the ER.
