You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I go get and beat you with until you understand who's in ruttin' command here.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Thank you so much again. It really helps me to understand some things better.

the Annapolis Conference back in Nov, 2007, which was widely portrayed in the US as a substantive failure.

Oh yes, the only thing I can remember about the Annapolis Conference right now is that they didn't aired the Muppets that night because of it and I was pissed about it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Heh. A lot of people my age are still pissed about the Camp David peace accord (in 1978-ish) because news of it preempted the premier of the original Battlestar Galactica.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have a random question for people who know about canning, etc. I opened up a jar of homemade jam this morning, and it had mold on it. Does that mean I have to chuck the whole thing, or can I just take off the top layer?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Condi Rice is seriously persona non-grata in the US right now. I don't think I've seen her at all this year.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Mmm. Vista isn't playing nice with my 8 year old Nikon digital camera software. Quelle shock.

Owen announced to me this morning that he "wants his big hair back." Looks like the buzz cut is a bust.

Sometimes I really wish I still lived in San Francisco....

San Francisco Cardboard Tube Fighting League Tournament

What:
The season of Cardboard Tubes is upon us. On Sunday, May 25, 2008 the first San Francisco CTFL Tournament of the season will be held at Corona Heights Park in San Francisco. Look for prizes that include, but are not limited to, a legendary tube belonging to the most famous Musketeer in history, and that of a well known, and bloodthirsty, pirate. Build your cardboard armor, hone your skills, and prepare for a tournament of epic proportions. Tubes provided!

...

Why:
The CTFL was created out of a desperate need to better train and arm citizens with cardboard tubes. While many speculate that our fore fathers, when drafting the constitution, originally intended the fourth amendment to refer to fire arms, there is now a small group of non-academics who believe that they were more likely referring to elite militias of card board tube wielding ninjas. While this training often takes place during childhood, it is discarded by adults who remain uneducated about the importance of such practices. The goal of the CTFL is to provide organized cardboard tube based events that help spread cardboard awareness.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I'm trying to come up with an excuse to hang out in Uptown in the next couple of days.

Film crews were gone yesterday when I came home from work. They might be back again today, but who knows?

I'm not adequately caffeinated and people keep wanting me to do stuff that requires complicated thought. Does that seem right to you?

hip deep in pie

Okay, I just received an email from the person who replaced me at my last position asking me if I could do the performance appraisal on my former minion. I have been gone from that dept. for six months, and was that employees supervisor for 7 of the 12 months of that fiscal year. It seems totally inappropriate for me to go back there and do her performance appraisal after all this time.
