Oh, hey. Just turned on Hell's Kitchen and remembered....

Right next door to East India Grill is a restaurant the Gordon Ramsey fixed on Kitchen Nightmares. I forget what it's called, but I might have to check it out.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

There is Indian Food I can not eat -- but around here it could be Southern Indian or it could be a restaurant where they cater mostly to people from India. Dh has a recipe that can be made with lamb or beef. I can eat it when made from lamb, but not when he made it from Beef. and He knows I am a spice wimp, so he didn't add as much as he would like

Is the board posting really slowly and double-posting frequently for anyone else?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

egad. I am so tired. Since I had the kids at home with me today and it wasn't hideously hot I decided to finally tackle the weeds that are choking the big rambler in the backyard. It was an ugly job, and it's only 1/2 finished. Then we made pizza for dinner. mmmm.

I find Indian food very spicy sometimes, and dishes that aren't hot in one restaurant may be wicked hot in another. But I still love it. mmm. My latest kick is masala dosa. sooo goood.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Does anyone have links to a resource outlining inventions and/or developments made as a result of ongoing NASA work, either space travel or observation work? The sort of ammo you might use against someone who thinks outer space is a waste of time and money.

Got two very brief teasers in a 30 minute documentary about mentions of jet propulsion--one was lightcraft which I pretty much get, at a high level: I hit you with a laser and the explosion resulting is your propulsion. But they also mentioned some top secret Russian work, Ajax or something that involved a cloud of electrically charged plasma at the tip of the jet, and a magnetic field around the centre of the vehicle that somehow reduces drag and produces up to half the thrust. But it was maybe five minutes. Very frustrating.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'm trying to come up with an excuse to hang out in Uptown in the next couple of days.

I keep trying to think of you as being terribly sneaky in other contexts, just for the quip, and I think it's possible that there are contexts where you are, but I just can't think of them right now. No, wait! I know! You were terribly sneaky with the whole Seekrit Santa thing. Wonderfully, terribly sneaky.

You, I had figured out sweetie. And I would do an emoticon here, only I just can't.

The board is single posts with regular speed for me. At least it has been.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I'm a shame to my Hungarian roots: I can't eat spicy food. Not even what people will consider as "but that's not spicy, Shir" food.

I used to blame my geographical tongue (I'm not sure if that's the term - it looks like it has a lot more "cuts" on it than other people's tongues) about it, but it has changed through adolescence so it can't be called geographical as much as in the past.

And I know I'm missing out some amazing food there, but I. Just. Can't.

Edit: and oh, just as an example? I can't have the salsa that comes with the chips without a glass of ice-cold water, toilet paper, tears and ice cream after it.
