Huh. I've never heard of BookMooch, but I may need to look into it next time I do a book purge.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I know we've had a contingent of BookCrossing fans, but I know less about BookMooch. Either one implies getting rid of books, which is one of those things that I know people do, and which might be a good idea, but...

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

So my paycheck increase is not due to my change in withholdings, it is due to them FINALLY telling me I needed to turn in timesheets AND I get overtime for everything over 35 hours it seems. Now the problem is that I am working the same hours now that I did then and that is 4 MONTHS of lost overtime because NO ONE TOLD ME OR ASKED FOR THE TIMESHEETS! minimum of $8K!!!! from my calculations. I am so having a meeting with HR tomorrow.

I just really really read the numbers on the paystub. The difference was so big this time because they DID factor in all the hours they had missed. WHEW! 89 hours of regular overtime. ok ok much calmer now.

I've found Uzbek food to be sinus-clearing, but not hot in that burn-your-mouth-out way that Mexican or Thai can be. (There's a terrific Uzbek restaurant about two miles from my apartment that is my current favorite, and it's the only Uzbek place in Chicagoland.)

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I've been so busy, and unable to keep up in Natter or Bitches, and now there are a whole bunch of new people, or not new people with new board names, who seem like they've been posting forever. So...Hi new(ish) people!

I feel weird buying apricots. We had a small apricot tree in the backyard growing up that always produced tons of very sweet fruit. Sun warm apricots right off the tree, mmmm. I don't think we ever bought them at the store.

I have a very hard time buying salmon or halibut, because halibut and salmon come free from the freezer. Ok, not quite so much the halibut, because I love it so much.

...that sounds intriguing Kathy, but I doubt I will go hunt down an Uzbek restaurant. Should I ever happen past one, though, I may remember your recommendation.

My problem is my inability to remember how various places rate their spice levels. I can't ever remember if a place's "two stars" is "not spicy at all" and "three stars" is "just a little spicy" or if "three stars" is "really pretty spicy" and I'm always scared to ask for "four stars" even if three is only a little spicy, for fear that there will be a sudden spiciness jump and they'll want to laugh at me and it will be impossible to eat. I am not a huge spiciness fan--I like a little kick, but I also like to be able to taste something besides the burn.

Though one place I like down the street I enjoyed because they made me pad thai that was spicy! I had never had that before, and it was fun!
