Pretty sure our feralberries are just blackberries. That's what everyone else calls them, and they don't really taste anything like raspberries.
Well, bizarrely, blackberries look much more like raspberries than black raspberries do. And the taste of black raspberries (to me) is like neither. Black raspberries look like smaller, more compact raspberries. See pictures here: [link]
The season (at least on the East Coast) is very short. The Brooklyn Greenmarket usually had them for one week, two max.

I know "baby bump" is to distinguish it from "Ewwww fatty!" but I agree that it's yuck.
They also always say 'showing off her baby bump." Um, not really-- she is pretty much just pregnant, and you know, walking around!
Sophia, I totally know what you mean. I think it has to do with the mags obsession with celeb pregnancy. When did pregnancy become a totally IT thing in the celeb world?

Well, I guess I mean in terms of the size of the non-baby bumps (seeds?). In that picture the black raspberries seem much closer in size to the raspberries. But, when I was growing up, we grew raspberries and had wild black raspberries, which were much smaller. But that was perhaps because they were wild. But, yes, they are shiny.
what are people eating for lunch? i can't think of a single thing that sounds good.
