All right, no one's killing folk today, on account of our very tight schedule.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

So hey, Miracleman? Not a big deal at all.

Hmmmmm....

Thanks Sparky! Believe it or not, I had been to that page a couple of times, but without reading the subtitles, I couldn't lazily at a glance find what I wanted.

You ROCK!

If I actually have to change my name, any suggestions? I usually am castvic on most sites, but it seemed like most people were using what I assume is their real first name.

Hi, Victor! A lot of people do use their real names here, but not everyone. Renaming or nicknaming people who have similar posting names is a long-running joke -- which I believe started when we had three Davids posting at the same time. There's no need to change your username unless you want to!

meara - May 20, 2008 7:42:19 am PDT #7853 of 10001

Heh. You don't actually have to change your name, Victor. Though you can if you want. We were mostly just warning you that we may (a) mix you up on a quick skimming through posts or (b) start nicknaming you ourselves. Which can be dangerous. :) And also serve as a warning that although someone's name in a post may be William, they might be referred to as SparklypantsSteve, and permutations thereof, and never as William. Or, y'know, whatever.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

What meara said. Also, your new nickname may become realer than your real name. Just ask meara.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So what has SparklypantsSteve been up to these days?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Also, this may look like my real name, but it is just a clever disguise!

And I tend to not only mix up people with the same name, but people with similar capital letters when I am skimming (Nora Dierdre and NoiseDesign, TypoBoy and Trudy Booth, I am looking at you!)

ETA: I just remembered shrift's real name, and it makes me giggle a little. i can't imagine calling her that!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I always think of shrift and meara as shrift and meara. Alibelle too, try as I might it's hard to use her real name when I see her.
