Huh. I had a crush on her back in 9th grade. That was 28 years ago....

well, she emailed you, that means that you meant something to her. And it will probably be one of those situations where you confess your former crush, and she says "I liked you too! I wish you'd asked me out"

And then you want to kill something and spend the rest of the evening drinking moodily at the (cash) bar.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Hmmm... in the 9th grade she used to pick on me. Maybe she did have a crush on me....

Oh yeah, we went to grade school together. When I was in 2nd grade, I considered her one of my three girlfriends. (Don't remember what that was all about.) And when I was in third grade, I got a cow and named it after her. (She was not impressed.)

Do you speak from experience?

So far I've avoided going to all my reunions.

Hah! My great-grandfather named his cows (er...cattle?...wait? what's the difference?) after his daughters. It pissed them off!

The idea isn't always to worry about how many you get crossed off.

Yeah, I was mostly bemoaning the crazy which has visited. Most weeks have not been this nuts. Frankly, I'd be twitching in a ball right now if I hadn't started up this week. I'm pretty close as it is.

I used to do this back in college. I still have the old notebooks somewhere, which can be interesting (though often deadly dull) to revisit.

Or maybe you spend the rest of the night in fascinating conversation and fall in love and live happily ever after?! Signed, A. Romantic

(also my friend's mom & step-dad got together that way!)

Huh. It's a weird day for Toms. A former coworker just emailed me wanting to set me up on a blind date with her sister.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

A while back I got an email from a girl who was one of my two best friends from third grade until we drifted apart in high school. I sent her a very newsy talky email. She sends me email forwards. One or two a day. No matter how many times I mark them as spam they still keep showing up in my inbox. Sometimes the past is better left in the past.

I know of what you speak. I got back in touch with my BFF from 8th grade. She was on her second husband, who had spina bifida, she lived in West Virginia, and was horribly lonely. She would email or IM me several times a day. I finally blocked her on IM and then her husband started IMing me!!!! I am SO GLAD I never gave her my email address.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

A guy I work with is marrying a girl he went to school with from kindergarten up to 10 grade. They lost touch for many years, ran into each other at some alumni get together and now are very happily engaged.
