Mal: Well, look at this! Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us? Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Hivemind question:

Would a French speaking, Cajun call his wife "Cher" or "Cherie?"

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Gambit always said "Cher."

And Dennis Quaid's character in the Big Easy also used it.

Because books.

But "cara mia" is still my favorite.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Never got a collect call from jail. (I have nothing else to add)

I think it could be either. But if you didn't use "chérie", I think you would probably say "ma chère". But who knows with those crazy Cajuns.

In any case, if you are writing it you need to use "chère" ("cher" is masculine). They are pronounced the same.

Thanks, Megan! I remembered the extra e for the feminine.

Thanks, guys!

Amy, I love Gomez Addams and his declarations to Morticia.

I remembered the extra e for the feminine.

And the accent. Don't forget that.

Mom got a new job at her old school! (They'd eliminated funding for her old position in an assy move eerily similar to the what happened to Kat.) This is awesome because a) she's still at the neighborhood school and b) she doesn't have to wait until the end of the month to find out what positions in the district are open (this has its own funding) and c) this means that she'll sleep at night! She'd been having stress insomnia.

Today was INSANE.
