Angel: You know, I killed my actual dad. It was one of the first things I did when I became a vampire. Wesley: I hardly see how that's the same situation. Angel: Yeah. I didn't really think that one through.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Things Younger than John McCain.

That's hysterical. But McCain is positively antediluvian so it should not surprise how many things are younger than he.

I'd love to go to Nepal or Tibet. But not for a long long long time.

In other new, I'm teaching summer school from 9-5 for 4 weeks this summer. YEAH!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I have one friend who went to Nepal and one who went to Tibet. I am tame by comparison.

Whoo, summer school!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'd totally teach summer school if it were only 4 weeks. My program is 11 weeks, what a dud.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh! Just saw photos from China. So upsetting. The buildings just crumbled, it must have been terrifying.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

ION, I will never climb Everest.

For serious. I assume we both watched Frontline -- so needlessly tragic.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

ION, I will never climb Everest.

I remember telling someone I had just read Into Thin Air (about that climb). And they were like "Wouldn't climbing Everest be so amazing?"

Um, no.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

"Wouldn't climbing Everest be so amazing?"

Sure, the first five hundred times.

Now its just a way to risk peoples lives needlessly. If you want that kind of adrenaline rush go to the well with 12 year old girls dodging the Janjaweed, you know?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Quick question--is livejournal down?
