You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I want to remodel the kitchen in our apartment. The cupboards and countertops all suck, and need to go.

The stove needs to go, too. We might actually make that happen in the next year or so.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Has anyone ever used a weight loss/fitness site called SparkPeople? I stumbled across it yesterday after googling for a recipe nutrition calculator and decided to register for it because it seemed to have more useful features than FitDay. So far I'm favorably impressed (though I'm avoiding the community aspect, setting my info and recipes to private, etc.), but the name is so corny and vaguely cultish that I keep expecting to be asked to accept Xenu as my personal savior or something.

I had an embarrassment of brown bananas in my freezer. So I'm now going to have 2 large loaves of banana bread. They are in the oven now. My bowls were barely big enough to mix them.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I've been getting the e-mails from SparkPeople for a while (because I signed up for them). No one has asked me to join a cult yet.

I don't use the message boards and stuff, though.

Yeah, I'm message board averse WRT that kind of thing. I know having a support group is supposed to be a huge help in losing weight, but I need to find a support group of people who can be suitably snarky and cranky enough to not make ME hit stabbity levels of crankiness.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

but the name is so corny and vaguely cultish

I doubt your commitment to SparkPeople. t /cult film allusion...

Am I tired, or is that no longer a fun game? I think I want movies which are genuinely cultish instead of quirky films that are marketed as such. From now on, only quotes from Romanian and Korean movies unreleased in the United States or Bollywood actions films from the 40s!

I was using SparkPeople for a bit. Lots of interesting emails. and eventually, they stopped after I stopped signing in.

Our wings are not tired.

I've used SparkPeople. I found the food tracking section to be well configured.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I was just on the phone with my parents, and they were describing a guy they had met recently. I was like, "Stop. Right now go google the comic book guy from the Simpsons." They laughed hysterically -- said their guy was less fat and had a longer pony tail, but basically yeah.

Classic.

If I think American Gladiators is the funniest thing ever, does that make me kind of dumb?

Not as dumb as the person who just fired a tennis ball bazooka backwards, though.
