Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Burrell, it's not being a good daughter. It's being a sucker.

Ah but see the willingness to do it for her sake and Noah's makes you a good daughter in my book.

Or maybe I'm just having a Mother's Day-induced moment of regret that I can't do things for my mom anymore.

IOmeN, coffee in the afternoon is a good thing. Coffee in the afternoon with lavendar shortbread is even better.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ah but see the willingness to do it for her sake and Noah's makes you a good daughter in my book.

I agree with you.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

OMG! I am having someone watch me do my first work on a system they trained me on last week. Such an awful trainer. His breath smells, he jumps all over, does not follow the steps as they are outlined onscreen, has trouble telling me to click buttons (as he keeps reaching for the mouse), directs me to hit return while I am doing most navigation via mouse. hate.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

A couple of questions for your translation: "What was that?"

Do you mean this in the sense of "What was that that I just heard?"

Exactly. "What was that noise?" would also workl

"Pierre just tripped and fell."

Is this "just" in the sense of "it just happened" or "only"?

Huh. Both, I guess, but mostly the latter--what my character is trying to say is, "That noise is nothing you should worry about, just Pierre being clumsy again, so go back to sleep (because no prisoners are trying to escape here, nothing of the kind, and by God I hope you're too asleep to notice I'm speaking French with an English accent)."

(My characters' captors, not being idiots, do see through this attempted deception--I'm just buying my boys a few extra seconds.)

Punishingly Intricate

I've posted some pictures of my kitchen project I've talked about here.

He's actually made a lot more progress since the last pics I took and posted. Drywall is up for one thing. I'm supposed to go pick out flooring FOR REAL tomorrow.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Mystery NASA press conference on Wednesday:

NASA to Announce Success of Long Galactic Hunt

WASHINGTON -- NASA has scheduled a media teleconference Wednesday, May 14, at 1 p.m. EDT, to announce the discovery of an object in our Galaxy astronomers have been hunting for more than 50 years. This finding was made by combining data from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory with ground-based observations.

Any guesses as to what they found?

Bush's brain?
