Disney heroes model undies. Now I regret having seen so few of these movies.

I was actually surprised that the pictures I saw didn't look as good as a lot of wedding pictures I'm used to--I don't know if it was a "not the wedding photographer and the real pictures will look better" or what. But the cake looked weird, and poor Barbara (the sister) looked REALLY strange in the pictures I saw...

So, I ended up going to a fancy running story for my new sneakers and learned that I do not supinate. I always thought I did because I have wear on the outside edges of my shoes. Apparently, that means nothing.

So now I have new sneaks with orthotic inserts that were way more than I was planning to spend. But I've gone on a couple walks now and (while the arch inserts feel a bit odd) I can tell they are going to make my feet and back feel a lot better.

I think that's why I liked them, meara -- they weren't that great, and the wedding looked regular nice, not extravagant.

OK, I am super lucky to have my mother. I was just whining about a work thing, and she was like, "But this is a great opportunity -- It's good for your resume!" and I was like, oh yeah, it totally is!

It's still annoying for the moment, but I can totally make it work for me in the future.

I'm trying to decide if I should try this recipe from Sothernfood.com. Does beef, apples, onions, curry powder, cinnomon and cloves and lemon juice sound like a good combo or just odd?

It sounds pretty good to me, but then it's a lot like my roast recipe minus the lemon juice (which I have used with lamb and Middle Eastern spices to good effect).

Mom cracked me up by picking Dixie Cafe for her dinner out tonight and then griping about it having the same old food it always does. Yes, Mrs. Lasagna Is Exotic Foreign Cuisine, the place known for specializing in down-home Southern cooking has a pretty familiar repertoire. Which is why you've been eating there since it opened.

I had a nice talk with my mom on the phone. It will probably be another month before I get to see her, but since everything is up in the air as to what's going to happen next month, I'd better not count on anything.

Weird. Just watched a taped "American Masters" on Aretha Franklin which left me feeling quite coldly about the lady. In no doubt about her extreme talent, but put off about the woman. And from living in Detroit I already had a hint of the crazy.

I'm remembering her distancing herself from George Michael--was that about his homosexuality or his legal troubles?

So I'm reading up ahead of time on Marvin Gaye. Now, I already know he was an addict and a woman-beater, but shit. What an unhealthy prick.

At least the Zora Neale Hurston one was about a woman you'd actually want to spend time with.

I'm excited to see Jesse Martin play Gaye in a movie, though.

(Of course, I've already seen him play gay in a movie...)
