You were very nearly devoured by a giant demon snake. The words 'let that be a lesson' are a tad redundant at this juncture.

Coding and Sleeping

It's bad form to strangle my students, right?

It would probably result in a lot of paperwork.

It would probably result in a lot of paperwork.

Probably. Whew! I know it's Friday, but is it really necessary to respond to every person that comes on the movie screen with a comment about their attractiveness? "DOES SHE HAVE A LAZY EYE?" Who the hell are you asking? And why? Shut up!

I said none of that, you understand, as I am patient and gracious and loving. Also vengeful.

In totally unrelated news, does anyone here have a compost bin? Are they much work? Er, any work at all? And tell me the truth, do they smell?

I swear this is unrelated -- the one I'm thinking of buying is too small to hold bodies anyway.

Hey, what do reasonably classy futon + frames run these days (not the damned metal ones, arms, wood, that sort of thing)? I'm seeing some prices that are equivalent to a sofa for crying out loud. I need to replace the one I have now (broken and ugly) and I'd been thinking about getting a sofa except with the heavy and hard to deliver and I really need a guest bed and maybe I should just wait and I can always find another use for the futon when I do get a couch...but damn. If it is going to cost as much as a couch....

I look more rad than Lutheranism

does anyone here have a compost bin?

Yes. Actually, we have 2 -- one for food/yard waste, and one that's only for dog poo.

Are they much work?

Some.

Er, any work at all? And tell me the truth, do they smell?

If you want them to not smell, then there's some work involved, in turning the compost in the food/yard waste bin, etc.

The dog poo bin is actually just septic starter with some water, and it "digests" the poo, and there's no smell.

The food waste bin shouldn't smell bad *as long as* you only compost non-meat products. Meats, fats/oils, and dairy products will turn your compost bin into a hellhole.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I'm a lazy composter and my compost pile doesn't smell, except in a vague sort of coffee grounds and banana skins way. You just have to avoid any meat or fat.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sara, they can easily cost as much as a couch. There's no reason for them not to be able to.
