Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

You know what Epicurious needs? A culinary equivalent to Amazon recommendations. "People who rated this recipe 4 forks also enjoyed these" sort of thing.

That would be mind-blowingly great.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Wouldn't it?

Because I had this for dinner last night and lunch today, and I want to be able to browse the site using "I really really liked this recipe" as a starting point.

Somebody should knit me a Sharpie holster!

I have no motivation to work this afternoon. I may die of boredom.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Funny cat video: [link]

Yeah, it's a funny cat video, but it's very good for a funny cat video. The music especially....

That does look lovely (and bookmarked, thank you!) -- recipes are such an utterly obvious place for that kind of collective filtering/rec system, and it's just never taken off. So instead you get site after site where you get a thousand really random-looking search results, or weirdly inflated star ratings for crap...

Punishingly Intricate

I think the skull/bong thing is cool.

Skull bong cool. Dismembered corpse head bong gross.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay doggie! He looks like what's his name from The OC.

How is there NO BK between 23rd and Houston?!?!

That does seem crazy.

I think I'm going to end up bringing work home this weekend, because I have been unable to force myself to do it ALL WEEK. I cannot stop rolling my eyes at my self.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Emily, the oxen expert whom relayed this information suggested that the near ox is smarter because he gets more attention. (They're not really very bright, rather like big patient slow dogs, but they can be trained to understand 20-30 verbal commands.)

Every couple of years, Old Sturbridge Village trains up a new pair, and you get to see the trainer leading these wee baby calves around in a wee baby yoke proportionate to their size. Training them as much as possible before they get so big they can drag you along if they don't wanna cooperate is a good idea....
