You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

What comes after bitter?

Curmudgeon?

Wow.

I totally just got conned. By a woman who first said she was a neighbor who'd been locked out and needed cash to pay the locksmith -- which I bought at first because I've been there. But then she came back with a series of increasingly unlikely "okay, here's the TRUTH" stories to get more dough out of me.

And I totally believe that she's in a bad place, but dude. The fact that I bought the first story does not mean I will buy ANY story. Because each new iteration is just establishing that you are a lying liar who lies.

I suppose I should call the cops, but given how this development is laid out, she'd be in the wind before they got anywhere close. And I seriously need to sleep. Full psycho-con-artist saga later.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, Strega!

Go, bon bon! I keep meaning to go to that.

Yikes, Sophia, good luck.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

You know something? Cats can be real fuckers. Lucy caught a cat crossing the yard a little while ago. (Caught as in "Ah ha! A cat! I think I shall go crazy and bark at her," not actually caught.) So I have to go outside and calm her down and drag her away from the stairs and the cat is frozen in place...until I do get the dog off the ledge at which point the cat decides "you know what? I think I will lie down and relax right here where I can keep that dog in a state of maximum frenzy." Finally the dog had to come inside altogether. Smoooth, Mr. Kitteh. Very smooth.

Our wings are not tired.

Curmudgeon?

Good choice. Either wizened or serene are possible.

Yay bon bon!

Boo psycho-con-artists!

Ugh, Sophia. Much better day job ~ma.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I'd hope zen comes after bitter, ita. But I don't know that it's true. I think maybe resigned.

Psycho-con-artists are no good. I got conned when I was in the Bay Area but good and the woman kept coming back. It scared the beejesus out of me and I just let the dog bark like crazy when she came to the door and hid in my apartment.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I ended up going home at 4:00 yesterday, still really dizzy and a little stressed about driving home with said lightheadedness. I then slept in bed for a solid hour, transferred to my couch to watch tv which I then managed to sleep through, and then went to bed at 11:00. That's when I finally took my temperature--100.5.

I guess I was sick!! The fever broke overnight and is now down to about 99.3, so I'm doing laundry and will head into work in a few hours.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I need my coworker to come in so I can bum a dollar off her to buy a Coke. The Cokes I was planning to bring from home are sitting in my kitchen.

Unless any of you guys wants to lend me a dollar.

hip deep in pie

Go Bon! I wish there was good bar trivia around here.

Meara, maybe there's a beanstalk growing.

I am damned by my own success. I got kudos for a document I created last week, and my boss just threw something else on my lap. My plate is already full dude.

Today is Monday for me. I am not awake. I need more coffee. I need a clue.
