Timelies all!
Aargh, calorie counting. I don't want to think about what my daily intake is now.(Especially yesterday when I ate most of a pint of Ben & Jerry's after a light dinner. I'm usually able to stop myself at one serving, but not last night.)
that post is...what's the word...it's like faux empowerment. Men are like this, but women are like this and that makes us look incompetant, but that's ok!
oh Brilliant Daisy Jane! My grumbling. Your words. there's a lot of backlash.... if you're twittering, I can point you to someone who is likely to counter.
When I was pregnant with Owen and had GD I was allowed 1800 calories a day. And not happy about it.
Sheryl, I look at the nutritional info on a pint of ice cream and say, ?four servings my ass.? Whiich is where it all goes anyway.
I don't twitter, I only vaguely understand the concept.
I just can't stand that sort of "Girls! Use the fact that men look at you as a sex object to get ahead!" because it basically says that the way things are are just fine, you just have to work the system.
And I do think you have to work the system, but that's because it sucks and not something I'm going to go around telling people is ideal, because ideally I wouldn't be shamed for asking for money, promoting myself, and console myself with being a good listener, being able to negotiate (instead of getting what I want).
Also, saying "women are horrible at this or that" always makes me want to smack the person who says it.
I'm cranky. I blame my aunt.
Hivemind: Good place to get "a fashionable 'business tote" that can hold papers/pens/folders/phone/calculator junk . and even a laptop" for a 30 year old female?
