I am also hangry, but I've already had lunch. It was all the McDonald's talk. I would like to eat my apple, but it's crunchy and technically, I am not supposed to eat at my desk. And I really don't feel like going to the staff lounge to eat it.
Since I have to spend my evening tracking down receipts and doing my taxes, I've convinced myself that I can have something fast food like and caloric for dinner.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.
I don't get hangry, exactly. I get oddly panicky, which is why I had to come home and eat. Nothing was going to calm me down more than this bowlful of popcorn with butter and white pepper topping.
Isolating white pepper like this has allowed me to determine I don't like it as much as black pepper. I must work out what it is best suited for.
eta: Weird, I just remembered my mother telling me this weekend that my father panics if he can't work out how he's going to assuage his burgeoning hunger. What a strange thing to inherit.
