Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

ita would look awesome in a hat.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Oh, good lord. Seriously!?!

Now a fixture at Department of Homeland Security science and technology conferences, SIGMA is a loosely affiliated group of science fiction writers who are offering pro bono advice to anyone in government who want their thoughts on how to protect the nation.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

You know, I've often thought it's a good thing for the country that apparently Al-Qaeda isn't as creative as your average table of 12 people at a writers conference--or, alternatively, that most of us writers only use our powers for bad in imaginary realms (see current tag!). Because I spent much of the year after 9/11 noticing thinking of all the ways the terrorists COULD attack and wanting to tell someone who could do something about them. But, that's just made of UGH, Daisy Jane.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Speaking of hair (kind of), I decided I wanted to grow my hair out some, and I now I remember why it got so short and layery. Too much hair! Ugh. Are there hair picture sites for thick hair? Because I always feel like my hair could never look like the pictures.

Pete says he doesn't think I look that different, but I disagree.

I think that's generally true of people who wear makeup every day -- they think they look a mess without it, but not so much.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Got my ears pierced the first time when I was 8. Don't know when I started wearing makeup, though I remember black eyeliner and cheap lipstick in high school. (Bad color choices. When the girl in the jet black mohawk asks you why your lips are orange, it's time to rethink the lipstick)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Maybe you need a few good wigs, ita. Just to play dress up.

Ha! That just reminded me of this, to which I went and uploaded a pic, and am amusing the fuck out of myself.

Huh. I think I rock Elisha Cuthbert's short do, for sure.

OMG, that thing is hilarious.

I'm afraid I'm going to be peppering my sister's email inbox with hilarity tonight.

So far I've had the best luck with Nyx Cosmetics concealer, topped with a few dabs of YSL Touche Eclat. Be warned the YSL stuff is pricey. But, there's a reason that a bunch of us call it "sleep in a clicky tube".

Jilli, do you get one of the colored Nyx concealers, or just the skin tone ones?

I love Touche Eclat, but often forget to use it. It is also brilliant for little reddish bits around the nose and lip. Pricey though.

This. I really need a cut at this point and am looking for ideas.

The palest skin-tone one. I've experimented with color-correcting concealers, and they never work as well as I had hoped.
