Mal: Well, look at this! Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us? Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, and in "ick" news:

Jack Bauer had many friends at Guantánamo Bay, Beaver said, "he gave people lots of ideas." She believed the series contributed to an environment in which those at Guantánamo were encouraged to see themselves as being on the frontline - and to go further than they otherwise might.

The hell? Gitmo inspired by Jack? I know the man behind the show's a raging right winger, and all that, but actual torturers look to TV for violent influence? I wonder what that says to people that Grand Theft Auto has no effect on their thirteen year old kids.

Now, I love Jack when he stabs someone in the leg, or whatever, but there's a big banner of :FICTION: flying over that whole thing. I'm soured on the show by the thought of such a link to reality.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I am always boggled that you manage to catch the bad (less strong?) Criminal Minds eps. Not that the last one was bad, but the resolution bit was weak. I clicked back twice and turned off my auto commercial skip because I was certain I'd missed an entire scene somehow.

I'm soured on the show by the thought of such a link to reality.
It's rather sickening.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Kat, do you have a recommendation for a good spa place?

Tamara, in LA? For what kind of service? I know of a good place for waxing and for facials. For bodywork is harder. I've been experimenting with places during spa week, but sadly it ends tomorrow.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

How come no one told me about The Fratellis? I count on you guys to keep me abreast of these things!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The Fratellis were totally a surprise to me too, FWIW.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

They're Scottish, were recommended because I like OkGo, and the album is called Costello Music-it's like they were made just for me.

I have snapdragons in pale yellow and burgundy and white&purple and peach and dark fuschia and lobelia and a red salvia and a marigold and a pink dianthus. And a strawberry plant, and I'm not sure what happened there.

But anyway, they are all potted in the balcony planters. I guess I was feeling ambitious.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

A place that charges something less than obscene for facials would be great, but I'm primarily looking for a recommendation for an excellent full body massage at less than highway robbery prices in West LA.

I want the world.

It's a gift. Akin to the one where every Without a Trace episode I ended up catching was from my quite brief sliver of liking the show. Murphy's Law as it applies to TV. Though I broke my WaT streak with the one with a crazy bitch and a nail gun, so that was very rewarding. Booyah. Of course, Gitmo lawyers were probably taking notes there too, though it was a clear case of a torturee just making shit up right away to spare themselves more pain.

And damn, was Poppy Montgomery's early accent weak. She's much much better now.

I got a good full body massage for $65 a few weeks ago. That was a pleasant surprise.
