When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

So, as of May 21, my contract to work as a coach is terminated. Mine and the other 30 employed by my employer. Apparently the school district took the old contract (which ended June 30), crossed out the end date and wrote in May 21.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Crap, Kat. That just sucks in so many ways. I'm really sorry.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

So, given the state of Amtrak in the Northeast, that's roughly equivalent to saying you have a very good chance of your train arriving on it's scheduled day.

I've taken Amtrak up and down the East coast (well, between DC and NYC) at least four or five times a year for the past five years, and only once been more than half an hour late. It's gotten a whole lot better since they switched to all reserved trains. (Not assigned seating, but they'll only sell as many tickets as they have seats. They used to sell "unreserved" tickets, which pretty much meant they'd throw on as many people as they could, and good luck getting a seat, but since they stopped that, the service has improved a lot.)

not your mom's socks.

(((kat))) what the hell?

Also does revising a contract like that even hold up?

Shit, Kat. You and my mom are living parallel lives. You are still in district right, and just have to find another opening once they are posted? Shit.

LAUSD is really fucking up.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Apparently the school district took the old contract (which ended June 30), crossed out the end date and wrote in May 21.

That shit doesn't seem right!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

It really doesn't. Fuckwads.

(My mom's principal traded the 2 or 3 PDTs for keeping the ass't principal because the school is under 250 or something. And didn't tell the PDTs. They found out through the rumor mill and had to seek the principal out for confirmation, which was nervously given.)

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

used to go from NYC to SC to see my folks . 18 hours ( same as car basically) Not late and before cell phone towers were everywhere. DH was in vacation mode by the time we got there. We usually got a room - on special pay a fair for on e - and a 2nd person came free - so it was cheaper than flying.
