Anya: We should drop a piano on her. It always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment. Giles: Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing fake tunnel on the side of a mountain.

Glad the surgery went well, Kristin.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

KT, glad the surgery went well. Speedy recovery~ma for Byron. And tons of {{{HUGS}}} for you. Let me know if you want a visitor this weekend for real hugs, comfort, and distraction? Or help with Byron? I dunno, but let me know.

In Me news. The date went ok, I guess. A nice Thai dinner. Good conversation. No uncomfy silence moments, but no forced conversation ones either. She liked the show. Didn't stick around for the party. She has a 17 mile hike tomorrow and needed to get home.

So the question I have. Her parting words: "I'll e-mail you about the show. If your visiting your friends in Pasadena, give me a call".

Is that good? Bad? It's not a "It was nice meeting you" Eh. Not sure. I figure tomorrow she'll be busy with the hike. So, Sunday she could do the e-mail? So If no e-mail, drop her one on Monday thanking her for the fun night?

Ugg. I'm so bad at all this courting dance stuff.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Fay, I'm glad your show went well, and you had a good time clubbing. You certainly deserve a chance to cut loose.

omnis, I'm glad your date went well. I'm not good at the courting dance either, so I'm afraid I cannot offer you any insights into what the woman is up to. It does sound good to me, dropping her an email on Monday.

Continued ~ma for Byron.

I don't know about any other Buffista households, but here there was a lot of cat-snuggling last night. I even picked up Sammie and snuggled her for all of 20 seconds. Which is about 10 seconds longer than she usually lets me. With Harvey, it wasn't that we snuggled him more. That would be damn near impossible without putting us on tube feedings and hooking us up to catheters. It was more that while snuggling him, I was extra conscious of it.

Librarian Warlord

Is that good?

Sure. I don't think she's "up to" anything, omnis -- I think she enjoyed the conversation and the fact that there weren't any awkward silences, and would like to have another. Give her a chance to email you about the show, like she said she would, and don't read anything into it if she doesn't get the chance right away.

Kristin, I'm glad the surgery went well. Recovery ~ma for both of you.

I am back at work, for another day of personnel files and a professor's RA who is working on cleaning up a brief he wrote due at the Supreme Ct tomorrow (the professor is out of the country).

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

So, Sunday she could do the e-mail? So If no e-mail, drop her one on Monday thanking her for the fun night?

That sounds about right.

Speedy healing to Byron.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

I think I have a bike ride date for tomorrow.

Today I am going to make cupcakes. I am thinking about making a white cake with fresh raspberries, then brush the top with lavender liqueur, and figure out some kind of lavender frosting (white chocolate, maybe?). Several years ago I did a chocolate cake with morello cherries. I might do that one again too.

Many furry hugs to Byron.

why wait until Monday? I think that the 2 day rule thing is stupid.

Our wings are not tired.

Quick healing for The Dread Pirate Byron. I love that name. Hugs for Kristin & ND.

I had to skim many hundreds of posts. I've been buried all week. The internet has been down at home so I have to do all my work at the office. I've been going in after I do the school drop and work in my jammies for an hour, then home to shower and eat, do the other school drop then back to the office. I usually do at least half my work at home. Since I have to cram it all into office hours there is no time for internet play. pout

So, yeah, back at the office. DH promises to get the internet fixed at home by this afternoon. Basketball playoffs are not so much fun on the itty bitty office tv. And too much to do to watch tv without laptop.

Now I want d's cupcakes.

I think that the 2 day rule thing is stupid.

Agreed. What feels right makes sense. Rules stupid.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Eh, I don't agree. If omnis had said "I'll e you about the show" and we were debating whether he should do that now or wait two days, sure. But in this case it's more about giving her the chance to follow up before jumping in.

OTOH, nothing wrong I can see with a quick "had fun last night - look like a great day for a hike" (or, alternatively, "hope the rain doesn't mess up your hike" depending on the weather which I am too lazy/not stalkery enough to check).

So the answer is: Do whatever you want to do!

Aren't we a helpful bunch?
