Zoe: Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing? Book: Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps.

Maybe she's a clever little liar and I am a gullible sap.

Maybe. But then the day will come when she complains about her wrist hurting and you tell her not to worry, just ice it and it isn't until over a month later that you find out she broke it and needs surgery, a pin, and a bone graft and you feel like the worlds worst mother father. Ummm, yeah.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

{{Raq}} I'm so sorry.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

she complains about her wrist hurting and you tell her not to worry, just ice it and it isn't until over a month later that you find out she broke it and needs surgery, a pin, and a bone graft

Hey, can I ask: what *sort* of pain was it? Was it constant, or did it only happen when she moved her wrist in a certain direction?

Because -- I have a doctor's appt. this afternoon because I've had pretty significant wrist pain for ::mumble::2months::mumble. I've been wearing a brace, and taking ibuprofen, and I figured it would get better on its own. But no.

And I'm sort of expecting my doctor to send me for x-rays, discover a break/alien implant/bone chip, and then send me for surgery. Which I guess would be okay, except NOT, because I don't want surgery and this is my right hand, which I use for a lot of things, not the least of which is wiping my butt.

Narf.

(Yes, I just turned your motherly angst into something that's All About Steph. It's what I do.)

Ann, that's a ferret.

I guess it's too late to go back and correct that to "RIP"....

Well, at least you're not a centaur. (I just flashed on that hysterical SNL sketch with Christopher Walken.)

Hey, can I ask: what *sort* of pain was it?

That was completely hypothetical. To, ummm, help Joe. Yeah. But my hypothetical daughter is off to school, so I can't ask her any specifics on this hypothetical situation. But if I were to make a up a memory, I'd say it was not constant, but more with certain movements or pressures. And it was a bone in her hand, not the actual wrist. I mean, it would have been had this been an actual thing.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Don't worry, Joe. I just got played for a sucker. I mean an actual sucker.

Dum Dum.

The sucker, not me.

Hmmm. I hate it when I have symptoms consistent with a hypothetical someone-else's-injury.

Dang!

The pain, when I press lightly, starts right under my thumb, on the side of my hand, not the meaty part where the thumb becomes the palm, and then continues for about an inch along my wrist/lower arm.

I'm thinking alien implant.

Raq, I'm so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and your family today.
