AARGH.
So, Saturday was at dance lessons with GILF (and others). GILF reminded me that another group is having drop-in dancing (with fun music other than just country!) on Tuesdays for this type of dance. Said I should really go, they'd been a few times and it was cool, we'd all go this week. Normally I play Scrabble tuesdays, but the times don't overlap too badly, so I enthusiastically agreed.
So all day yesterday and today I was looking forward to this (I'm bored, no work, which doesn't help).
Text GILF to make sure the plan is still on, and she calls back all "Oh, sorry, forgot there's this poetry thing going on that we're all going to, do you want to come, we can save you a seat"

Heh. Sadly, not a lesbian event (though the organizer is a queer woman, I think the event will be fairly mixed). Also sadly, this is the week they start charging a cover. Hrmph.

Too bad about the cover. I still say drop in after scrabble and find out if it's a fun thing to go to by yourself. Dancing can go either way ime, but if it turns out to be not so fun you can just leave and know that for next time.

whew. I just had to issue a written warning, in Spanish, to an employee whose English is as bad as my spanish. We got through it with a minimum of pain and I think I even managed to explain that I blame the state of California for making it so hard to be compliant with breaks.
