I'm at the surgeon's. She says that she thinks amputation is his only chance. She claims cats with hind leg amputations recover well, even older cats. I can't believe I have to make this decision. She's out calling my vets right now.
Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
{{Kristin}}FWIW, I bet Byron would give up a leg for another year with you if he knew what was going on.
{{Kristin and Byron}} I'm so sorry, hon.
Backflung, DJ. Hope it explainiates at least a bit.
Best of luck for Byron, KT. My gut says do it, but you've got all the support in the world from me whatever you decide.

Much ~ma heading out to both of you....
Oh ugh, honey. All the 'ma in the world to you both.
I'm sorry, Kristin. Just know that there is no wrong decision here, no matter what you decide. {{{}}}

Flashback to my very first Info Science class, which I loathed with a passion. I am totally not a theory fan.

Well I've talked to the surgeon. It's this or him dying. It's also going to be between 2 and 3 thousnd dollars. She says that the amputation will maybe give him another 2 years. Jesus.
Also, Kristin, if you need to cancel tonight, it's totally okay. Just play it by ear and if you'd like company, we'd love to come. If not, totally understandable, too.
ETA: I'm so so sorry. These kinds of decisions are so awful. Thinking of you both.
