Does anyone have any experience with Rozerem? Is it something I'd have to take every day for a while to have an effect, or is it something I could use every once in a while if I needed it?

sj, what antibiotic? That way I can just look up the specifics for you.

cipro.

Emily, I think you should be able to take it only as needed.

sj, give me a minute and I'll dig up the info.

sj, you're fine with prilosec -- it's just things like Tums and Rolaids that affect Cipro. (Prilosec isn't even technically an "antacid"; it's a proton-pump inhibitor.)

As for dairy, here's what I found:

Ciprofloxacin should not be taken with dairy products (like milk or yogurt) or calcium-fortified juices ALONE since absorption of ciprofloxacin may be significantly reduced; however, ciprofloxacin may be taken with a meal that contains these products.

It's totally a take-as-you-need.

Thanks, Teppy! I appreciate you looking that up for me. Medication makes me so nervous.

You're welcome!

Medication makes me so nervous.

That's totally normal. It's people like me, who take handfuls of pills with abandon*, who are the freaks.

*(Okay, I don't really take HANDFULS of pills, but I tend to not worry about interactions. Remind me of that when my liver falls out, okay?)

I totally love this group! But, does it make me evil to think "I wonder if Burrel is snapping pics to blackmail her son with later in life"? I know my family would have. Hmm. Might explain some of my twisted mind.

ION, this is the THIRD day in a row I'm up before alarms. Today, I'm up before ALL of them (yes, like 6!). I've had time to actually eat a bowl of cereal in my apartment, rather than in the car!! OK, 2nd to last alarm has sounded, time to hop in the shower. (crazy I tell you, it's like I'm a morning person this week... CRAZY!)

Oh, and Emily, Roserem isn't habit-producing, so that's another plus.

My mom has a bunch of pictures of my younger brother, around age 5 or so, wearing my old dresses, one of mom's wide-brimmed hats....and holding a toy machine gun. They're WAY funnier than the obligatory naked toddler pictures.
