Yes indeed! But, really, one girl and one cat don't need an awful lot of space, you know? And it's all set out to make very good use of what space there is. And it's a lovely building, and there's a pool and a little gym and gorgeous views - I mean, it's the nicest place I've ever lived, you know? So I shouldn't be whining - I like it lots.
Nevertheless, I definitely understand the excitement of having MORE THAN ONE ROOM!!! Go Team You, with the exciting multiple room having!

That's my theory, but considering the amount of work I've had to do the past few weeks to get my apartment to vaguely presentable, it seems to have not worked so well.
I'm ordering a new mattress pad. 100% cotton. Unmeltable.

Having extra space does have it's downsides (3 dumpsters, umpteen trips to Goodwill, many packed boxes, lots of freecycled itemed, and there is still lots in the house). I'm really looking for something much more on the cozy-side when we move.

Hil, I strongly believe that PETA actually compels more people to eat meat than not. I think they'd win a lot more converts without their aggressive antics. And I don't eat meat .
ETA: Okay, so they don't compel people to eat meat, but I don't think they dissuade anyone, either. I think they'd be more convincing (and beneficial to animals everywhere) if they merely reported the truth. The truth about how we "get" our meat is ugly enough.

Fay, my hubby was wondering about Thailand. He visited many years ago, when he had access to military transport in the days when a young military dependent could hop on a plane and see the world. He remembers the slash and burn of farmers clearing their fields in the spring and was wondering if the country is still full of smoke every year at this time.
(Hubby likes to drop these tidbits of his youthful adventures, especially when he was living in Hawaii in the 70s. He worked on windjammers for a few summers and will casually say things like, "Yeah, I've had squid, I didn't like the way they cooked it in Singapore, but it was really good in Australia.")
