That's beautiful. Or taken literally, incredibly gross.

How does one cook chicken so that's moist and tender? Is the problem with using frozen chicken?

Defrost before cooking for moistness and tenderness. Defrost on 3 in Microwave, turning every 3 minuntes for parts. Or under running cold water. I think both of these are for parts only. Never tried either with a whole chicken.

For parts: foil wrapped covered in sauce with veggies or fruits.

For whole chicken - stuffed and basted and foil wrapped. Stuffiing can be as simple as an orange or onion or both up its butt.

Also, stew with liquid and roots and veggies and spices. (Parts. Don't think I'd waste a whole chicken on this cooking method.)

Lastly, I do the instant defrost thing only with parts. I try to defrost frozen whole chickens only in the refrigerator. I don't think I'd try microwave defrosting a whole chicken, though maybe someone here has. I suspect the running water thing might not work - or at least would take a long time and use enough water to show on your water bill. I suppose you could use a cold water bath rather than running water, but that would be a really slow process. And I don't know about food safety in those circumstances.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

And the cool looking Steampunk band, Abney Park.

Bites tongue very hard. Removes fingers from keyboard for a few minutes.

The Maker Faire looks like a lot of fun!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

ATK has you cook the chicken on each side for 15 minutes before turning it on its back for the rest of the time. Contact with the hot pan, I guess, speeds up the leg/thigh meat so that you dry out the breast waiting for it to finish. It's worked for me when I've tried it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We bought shades today and a few of them just aren't fitting. They're about an eighth of an inch too small. They sort of fit in but not securely.

Watching "Young Indiana Jones" and I'm looking at the one guy playing the director "Mr White" and I'm like "I know that voice!". Yup, he was the director for the last play at work. Only here he is 15 years younger. Playing with my head.

Our wings are not tired.

Huh, I usually consider Hil links to be safe. I should have headed the nightmare warning.

Frozen chicken works better for me if I marinade it for some time before cooking.

I'm at my mother's house. Came over here for the weekend for a baby shower. It has been months since I visited. Mom is not doing well. She didn't go to the shower. For a couple months now she rarely dresses. Stays in her jammies all day. She has missed Sunday mass 4 or 5 times. Unheard of in the past. She's tired. My sisters and I don't know how to get her up and moving. It is one excuse after another.

I should be doing laundry. I am not doing laundry. Instead, I am watching TV and eating bread with blueberry preserves (yum) and being upset about the derby news. This is not a productive way to spend an evening. Or a terribly fun way, either.

We watched the derby. Sad indeed. It was unsettling with the massive joy on one side of the track and tragedy on the other.
