Our new landlord is awesome! The list of things I asked him to do last night are all done, including fixing the furnace. Yay, hot water!

YAY sj!

I got the report back from the home inspector already. Apparently everything in/on the house is past its expected life and should be replaced. Roof, gutters, oven, water heater, wood trim, even the electrical panel.

I'm terrified to get the pest report now.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yay for sj's landlord!

My breakfast is blueberry preserves on sourdough bread, both from the farmers market. Yum.

I'm thinking I might use my amazon gift certificate to get canning supplies. Vaguely responsible, yet also fun, and also helpful for my resolution to eat more homemade food.

Mostly lurking...

Holy shit, Suzi!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's great news, sj!

Canning supplies sounds like a good plan. My stove claims to have a canning burner and it makes me want to start putting stuff up. Maybe now the nearby farmer's markets are going again I will get inspired.

Because books.

Oh, Suzi. Yikes.

Yay for sj's new landlord, though!

That sounds delicious. The local farmer's market here doesn't start until June.

That's a great idea.

So, on a lark, I signed up for the Guardian's "Soulmates", an online match service. The Guardian is a liberal UK newspaper that I read occasionnally. I signed up like 6 months ago. I don't know what they did, but in the last few days, I've gotten several nods of interest. (go me!) One of them is even in DC! But, I digress. Of course, sign up is free, but in order to talk or email, you have to pay. They have a series of "one liners" that you can send for free, though. One of them is "I'm not a subcriber, how about a gift subscription?" How tacky is that?
