Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yay, Scrappy! I'm glad he is ok.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'm so glad for the FiL news, Scrappy!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

That's great, Scrappy.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Good news, Scrappy! It must be such a relief to you all.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

Yay Scrappy for good news!

I am so sore and exhausted. But I'm going out for Greek food, and I might even get to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Also, it will be very interesting to watch the T&F part of the Olympics this year.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Want. BBCAmerica. Now!

In the first episode of the new season, we meet the Sheriff's long-legged and dominatrix-influenced sister (she's the dame with the snakes), who has bodyguards who stole their look from the Third Reich by way of Tom of Finland. Clearly, they are up to no good.

Ow. Sneezing hurts. Baking soda feels like sand in my sinuses.

The status is NOT quo.

Scrappy, that's wonderful news!

Hil, stop snorting baking powder. Have we taught you nothing?

Good luck with the move, Suzi. You can do it!

Ok, how do I dispose of aerosol spray cans?
Recycling center or local haz mat disposal?

Glad you survived the birthday party, Susan.

Kristen I hope you start feeling better soon. I had pneumonia when I was about 25 or so. And it sucked, (I had bronchitis first) anyway one thing to remember is take it easy when you do get back on your feet.
It can take a while to get your full strength back after you've been so sick so don't push yourself too hard.
I was supposed to chaperone the 9th grade white-water rafting/camping trip a week from Monday. In theory I might be well enough by then to still go, but...I'm thinking also maybe not.

I know I've been hogging the ~ma lately, but can I please get a little "break that fever and start getting better" ~ma? I was told I would be feeling much better by now and I'm really just not. If this doesn't improve within the next couple of days, than this pneumonia isn't bacterial after all, which makes it a lot trickier to deal with. My temp a little bit ago was 101.8 and ick. I hate. I dosed myself with Advil again, but this has got to stop sometime, right?

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Hil, this may be one of those times when laughing while drinking (water) would be a good thing. Perhaps it would help to snort a handful of water, or if you have one of those ear-cleaning bulbs, put some warm water in it, and flush your nasal passages.

Ok, I'm trying to convince myself to go low-carb. So I'm assuaging my premenstrual NEED for chocolate by melting 2.5 oz of 70% cocoa solids chocolate into 1/4 c. of ricotta cheese. It tasted pretty good. The texture was weird, but it was unusually satisfying.

ETA: Some stuff I forgot in my low-carb choccie rapture.

Scrappy, I'm glad your FIL is ok. Have fun at the movies.

Also, Kristin, you sure can have all the anti-pneumonia~ma you want. And I'll send some Harvey-purrs into the bargain. (It's weird because I know one of the times I had a nasty chest cold, he insisted on sitting on my chest, purring up a storm. The extra weight was uncomfortable, but I couldn't dislodge him. When he finally got up, though, my breathing sounded way less congested, and my sinuses were clearer. Perhaps your own felines will join in and rattle some of the gunk loose.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Aw, Harvey! You're good for what ails Andi.

Kristin, I am so sorry you've been so sick for so long. I know that fear that comes with wondering if things are not going the way they should. You hang in there and try to rest. Hopefully tomorrow you will eake up feeling better.

Scrappy, I'm glad your FiL is OK- I was worried.
