Pickles... I made a cheeseburger meatloaf that had pickles in it this week and it was surprisingly very tasty. It was a new recipe and I wasn't sure of it, but was pleased with the results.

OK, I don't pimp shows I work on often, but this one is very timely and funny and GOOD! Anyone in SoCal, I encourage seeing it. It's only for a few weeks. (trying not to waste bandwidth telling about it, so here is the link: [link] ) There has been a fair amount of Orange County/LA press about it too.

golf - funny. We have a pink flamingo golf contest here every October , all over the neighborhood - very silly fun. with flamingos and tiaras
On our second-to-last real vacation (this would be back in 2002, sigh), we ate in a restaurant in Gettysburg that purported to offer authentic 19th century food. We shared a plate of pickled things that weren't cucumbers--chow-chow, I think it was called. It was sweet and crisp and sharp and generally teh yum.
