So sorry, WS! What a difficult thing to go through.
Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
extra strength and restful sleep to you windsparrow
Oh goodness, WS, that sounds awful! I hope for the resident's sake it was nothing big...like the time my grandmother passed out and started talking nonsense at Christmas Dinner. We had to call 911, but by the time they got there, she was fine. It was bizarre.
Am in Indy. Have to be somewhere ass early in the morning. Gah.
It's funny, I still have the reflexive twitch about sleep training, but DAMN, I wish we'd tried it out.
Thing is, so do I! But the emotional balance of the household has finally tipped to where we both hate the idea of sleep training less than we hate the idea of a possibly infinite number of more sleepless nights in that fucking rocking chair.
They slept with me until they wanted their own space. I made a couple feeble attempts at keeping them in their room, but they were miserable and I was miserable.
Heh - we were the reverse. We made a couple feeble attempts at cosleeping before admitting (with some relief) that we are ALL happier sleeping in our own space, baby included.
WS, how scary!
(And now it's after 2 and Waking #1 seems to have finally ended, so I'm going to sleep myself.)
o dear dog, I finally got thru all the messages in the right side bar. I sure hope everyone is still friends. I think this is my 2nd lightbulbs (1st was save the Firefly)... wow. this one seemed a lot... wow.
ION. Just finished watching Animatrix. Pretty cool.
I am glad D went back to sleep. I wish I was asleep myself. I should get up and shower but there is a baby snuggled against me.
I hope he slept the rest of the night, Jessica. Sounds like otherwise, though, it was a pretty successful night. Hang in there.
Edited to delete minor freak-out. No use getting all worked up about it until I actually know there is something to get worked up about.
So, conversation with a work higher-up over dinner:
Him: So what did you study at Uni?
Me: Huh. Law, Ancient History, Latin, Biblical Literature, Pure Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Studies, Accounting, and Philosophy. Oh, and the CFA.
Him: Have you ever felt that maybe you should try to become more well-rounded?
Me: Fair enough. Maybe I should learn a foreign language.
My plan to become well rounded included pastries.

I wish more parents could stop stressing over 'the right way' to do things and could accept that what works for them is the right way. It's all trial and error and when you got it down with one kid the next one is the polar opposite.
I hope the parents and non-parents all slept well last night.
Eeep Andi, that is tough and scary.
huh, that was odd, my post was bold. way too early for that.
My plan to become well rounded included pastries.
Yeah, I definitely became well-rounded in college.
OK, I can keep clicking Read New, but the trash isn't going to take itself out.
