Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Did you ever get the raise or the medical benefits that he promised you?

I got the medical benefits. He pays 100% for a BC/BS plan that covers Joe and Em, too. I didn't push the raise issue, because he's paying considerably more for those benefits than the other company would have in benefits plus the raise.

But yeah - it sucks cause I really, REALLY need a day off. From everything and (love you honey) everyone.

Oh! I totally missed that. He does get points for that. But, still wanna get you drunk. And yeah, you need some time off from everything. You deserve it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Aimee, no rush. We're not getting in until 10 tonight, so I won't get a chance to read it until tomorrow.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

and frank, it's not looking too great to get together with you though the menu looked AWESOME

I had a feeling that was the case. And it turns out I've got plans on Thursday myself and leaving for Maine on Saturday, which doesn't leave a lot of openings left anyway. You really need to, well, get better first off, and then get over there with Tom some time. The risotto I had there was the best I've ever had.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

I feel ya, baby, no offense taken.

We should work something out. I know your weekend plans didn't come together...

...Tell you what. Why don't you see if your sister or some friend wants to hang out Saturday and Sunday? I'll do my thing Friday night, if that comes together, and you can piss off on Saturday overnight to Sunday somewhere and I'll watch Em.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

How the heck do you tell a man, "No, you may not be the man you've longed to be for ten years and show your wife how much you appreciate her"?

You don't, especially not in these initial stages of "Seriously? We aren't going to debtors' prison? You mean it???" I'd say that the best thing you can do is gently guide his purchases (the ones for you) so that you end up with something you would wear/use. Maybe earrings?

Besides, I always got the impression that your DH is well aware that you prefer cutty, blade-y things to sparkly, gem-y things.

Always Anti-fascist!

(suddenly picturing MM showing Em pictures of people, and saying "who's that?" and Em looks at POTUS and says "total fuckcake,") It's oddly heartwarming.ETA: Connie, he's just enjoying being able to choose again. He's had a lot of choices limited recently, and I know from experience that being poor makes it worse.

Have you been spying on me?

(((Nora))) Feel better.

(((Aimee))) If you have the time coming to you, you should be able to take it whenever you need it.

Always Anti-fascist!

Not literally, no. But I'm glad to know I was on the right track.
