"My girlfriend has worked for 2 1/2 years and not taken a single sick or personal day."
What that usually means is that she has been spreading noxious diseases to the rest of the workplace. And will she be a less dedicated person if she gets cancer or breaks a leg? Does he want them to move the chemo drip to the office?
So I've spent the last half-hour doing some research, and after looking at the FLSA, I'm not sure Aimee is an exempt employee. If she isn't, then she can go after the fuckhole for overtime.
It's too long and boring to get into here, so insent, Empress.
Aimee, did you see the lolcat...well, it was really a lolcamel...I posted yesterday for you? Worth a laugh, at least, on a crappy day.
To anyone who doubts smonster and I are twins, check it: [link]
Separated at birth, I tell you.
I think this guy is not working from translations
Straight from the classical Hebrew?
I don't understand--if Aimée
has
holidays or sick days and isn't being allowed to take them--isn't that unfair in some court or another? As distinguished from a job that has neither?

Nope, it makes no difference. From what I understand, they're considered benefits, and it's not illegal to not offer benefits, nor is it illegal for an employer to say you can't use them, if your presence is required to fulfill the job duties.
Gaaah!!! Where is my darn UPS shipment???

I DID and I love it so very very much!

That's awful and it really should be illegal.

I think so. It's his specialty, Biblical (and earlier) Israel. One of his arguments is that the names of patriarchs were not in currency during the First Temple Period, so they probably aren't made up because if yo were making up names you'd likely make up names you were used to. But also, the genealogies are more about relationships among nations than between people. It makes my head hurt. But I'm pretty sure he's a primary source guy. Abraham Malamat.
Whether Aimee's boss is within his rights or not, he is crazy.
