'Never Leave Me'

Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

javachik, I love that picture. I'm glad the camera lasted long enough to get that gorgeous shot.

Hil, hope you get relief soon.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I've got a bag of frozen edamame on it now. Seems to be helping some. (And I've learned that, when grabbing something from the freezer to be an ice pack, frozen berries is NOT the answer. I've still got some purple splotches on my rug from that.)

Handing Down Stories: Oral History As Literature

Oooh, that's a good one too. How does one choose?

And thanks for the kind words, WindSparrow.

Hil, hope your mouth pain goes away and fast. Is it wrong I giggled at the juice stains?

Hah! I used frozen strawberries once for a migraine when that was all I had that wasn't open....but they leaked anyway, and I have a red stain on my pillow (mostly it got on the towel I wrapped it in)

Aww, that sucks. The photo is beautiful, though. At least your camera went out, um... doing what it loved best, or something.
Wow, this. That picture is stunning. I'm so sorry your beautiful camera was destroyed. I hate when stuff like that happens (and it's never the cheaper camera, is it?).

Oh Hil, so sorry that you're in pain.

The things you can learn from buffistas. I hope the pain goes away soon, Hil.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That is a beautifully exposed picture, java. You have a gorgeous dog, but everything else really comes together there.

Oh, Hil. I recommend having an icepack section of the freezer, wherer everything is good for application, whether they're actual icepacks or not.

Thanks ita and Kristin! (oh, and Kristin, it is the cheaper camera - if it had been Steve's Nikon, I'd be devastated.)

Chile is a good looking dog, as long as you don't look at her teeth! She was a rescue pup and didn't get enough nourishment her first few weeks (mom dog was dying of starvation while she was nursing the pups, terrible and true) so she didn't get the calcium she needed. The right side of her mouth is filled with teeth that will need to be pulled eventually because they're malformed and rotted looking. The left side is perfect.

Oh thank goodness. I must have misread.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

OMG, I just READ almost 400 posts.... took me all day, but I am caught up. You know tech is bloody boring when you can catch up on nearly 400 posts. Now I admit, the last 80 or so... kinda skimmed. But. I'm fading. So cut me some slack!

This might be easier if I didn't spend so much time trying to ignore people staring at my crutches or the way I walk.
:: stands with SJ on this one :: Most of the time I'm like "screw 'em if they can't take a joke. It's my life, bugger off". But kids are the worst. They just stare and stare and stare. Quadropeds unite! (I'll stop now.)

And even if you do have a career about which people have a clear-cut impression, ie. being a nurse...
Jen, I'm with you! I've had all too much experience with the medical world. I firmly believe Nurses and PT's are far smarter and work harder than any doctor. Just my opinion. No offense to the doc's in the house.

Mom says sister says asshat is moving out tonight. I'm waiting for further information.
Mixed emotions on this one Laga. Happy that asshat is out... but does this mean I can't come to family functions to shield you from him anymore? I like your family. :: sniffle :: Me wants to play!

I'm with ND and the west coasters on luring the Miracleborns out here. C'mon. Admit it. Think of the Serenity parties. Aimee, you liked them! And no snow! Warm! SUN! Lots of other reasons, but brain is mush after today. Long day. It took us over 3 hours to tech one page after dinner. Oy Vey!

As for job stuff. Ya, nothing is perfect. I have a job I love, but work for assholes (I should say my immediate boss is the best I've ever had, it's thems above him thats the problem). But, it's a steady paycheck. Shure I'm woefully underpaid. But, it's a steady paycheck, with pretty rockin' benefits. I think no matter what happens, your selling your soul to the devil in one way or another in order to make rent. Mine happens to be long, thankless hours. Nothing is perfect in this world. Sooner you realize it, accept it, and focus on the good, the happier you will be.

Ok, enough rehashing 3 days ago discussions. 32 more minutes before I can go home and flop.
