Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And oddly - it was "Ella Enchanted" that put me in my recent Queen-mood.

Because the Central Park dancing reminded you of Highlander?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

That's Enchanted. Ella Enchanted is the one with Anne Hathaway.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Because the Central Park dancing reminded you of Highlander?

Hmm...no. "Ella Enchanted" is the movie with Anne Hathaway that was released like, 6 years ago. Also, I've never seen Highlander.

That's just so wrong. Especially if you like Queen.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

So, you know how I sprained my left ankle in November and then re-sprained it on Christmas Eve, thus necessitating (at last count) 5 months of an ankle brace and wearing sneakers everywhere?

It's finally rehabilitated enough that I'm able to wear big-girl shoes again, so I finally went and bought actual Real Woman-type Shooz at lunch: [link] (I bought them at Dillard's, where they were on sale for $80-something). They kick ass. Totally comfortable and yet -- *I* think -- actually dressy and stylish.

I learned, when trying on shoes, that my sprained ankle can't handle a heel that's 2 inches or higher. I guess it's the angle at which it cants my foot. So no super-high heels.

(And my cross-dressing BF would pee his pants laughing if he heard me refer to 2-inch heels as "super-high." His idea of a "low heel" is a 3-inch heel. Fucker.)

(He also threatened me with disgusting bodily functions if I came home with a chunky-heeled shoe. Snob.)

t edit I also got this shoe, in brown: [link]

My weekend plans sound much like Aimee's:

Thesis, thesis, thesis, and more thesis.

Oh, and throw in flying to Birmingham, AL, attending a rehearsal dinner, visiting the botanical gardens with the whole BIG extended family, attending a wedding, and flying back home. I'll fit that in between my work on the thesis.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Steph, I can't wear heels either. I would fall and kill myself, or at the least, re-injure one or both of my ankles.

Those shoes are really cute.

Oh, Steph! I'm waving from the airport! We got stuck here, because our flight got in late.

How long are you there?

Our new flight leaves at 4:30, I think.
