My younger brother is coming to visit. We're going to see the Bulls/Bucks game tomorrow. Besides that, other touristy stuff I guess....
Spike's Bitches 40: Buckle Up, Kids! Daddy's Puttin' the Hammer Down.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Plans for the weekend:
1) Work.
2) Write.
3) Watch Galaxy Quest with the kids.
Movies I wish I owned but don't (yet):
1) The Haunting (original)
2) Se7en
3) The Slipper and the Rose
Plans for the weekend: work, work, work. Some time in there I'd like to spend a teensy bit of my newly aquired tax refund.
All three movies must actually exist in our current space/time.
OK thinking...
any progress on that time machine?
Yes. I have successfully sent a hamster into the future.
Well...I think I successfully sent him into the future. Either that or he was completely vaporized.
We'll find out in another fifty-six years.
Poor Eloise.
The movies I most want either aren't out, out of print, or only available in the wrong region:
Last Year at Marienbad (though hopfully the fact that a new print made the rounds means it will be back in print soon)
Four Flies on Gray Velvet (pretty much the only Argento not available except in a really lousy gray market video that I own already)
Fear and Desire (Kubrick's first movie which he made a serious attempt to destroy later on)
hee hee. Although I almost said Galaxy Quest I thought I'd visit my Netflix history and see if there's one I'd forgotten. [24 Hour Party People! I'm surprised I don't already own it] We finally figured out that the trick to staying logged on to Netflix is to make sure we're signed on to my roommate's account when we navigate away from the page. When I clicked back over to his account I saw this message:
Because you enjoyed:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 1
Firefly
Dead Like Me
We think you'll like:
Torchwood: Season 1.
I tried! Maybe he'll pay attention if it's coming from the computer.
Plans for the weekend:
1. Write
2. Figure out what we're going to do for a birthday party for Annabel next month (party will be a few weeks after actual birthday, so we're not really behind on the planning)
3. Relax!
4. Go to Mariners game Monday (counts as weekend because I've got the day off!)
This weekend I am texting my next show. I am also window shopping for studio gear and a new laptop.
Huh. Weekend just got a little less relaxed and a little more houseworky. New landlord is coming by to fix our kitchen sink (the tap has been loose since the pre-purchase inspection 2 months ago, though everything works fine), so I figure we should at least get all the dirty dishes out of the sink and in general make the place look less like a pack of wolves rampaged through it chasing a tornado.
Sigh. I wish I could get myself onto a regular cleaning schedule so I wouldn't have to scramble every time something like this happens, but if I spent all that daily time on housework, when would I write?
