I just mentally went to several options for what they might have thought "fanny pack" referred to
They did too, my friend, they did too.
The fact that I was totally clueless made it even more hilarious. Then, they delighted in telling me all the bad words that our languages have in common...starting with roger. All this was shared in whispers...I'm pretty sure they were seminary students at that.
starting with roger
Roger dodger and jolly roger take on a WHOLE new meaning.
Hey MM just wanted to make sure you saw my post above your last one--I TOTALLY wasn't calling anyone on this board low class! I am sorry if I gave that impression. I was more specualting on why there is so much odd pressure not to swear in the country.
Yeah, reading back, I sorta meant my posts to be tongue-in-cheek, but I realize that my Giant Jolly Red Candy-Like Button labeled "Class Warrior" got pushed in error and that kinda bled through. Sorry.
I have reset my breakers and all appears to be well.
(Fuckity fuck fuck!)
It doesn't seem to be giving me any extra wisdom though.
That's because you need to go ahead and eat the chocolate you're saving for later.
I've never heard my Mom swear. I've heard my Dad swear once.
This is me. I don't curse. If I drop something on my toe I say "ouch!" My worst word is probably shit, and I would never say it in front of mom. My kids and all their friends know better than to use any language around me. My friends apologize when they swear, which is silly. It doesn't bother me at all when adults use colorful language, unless it is every other word then I tune out. Oddly my best friend IRL is a Brooklyn chick that drops F bombs left and right. She has stopped apologizing after me telling her a billion times I have no desire to tell another adult how to speak.
I'll leave the cursing at Company X to others here that do it so much better. I shall shake my pudgy fist in their direction though.
I am amused that "Fanny" in GB not only means "vajayjay" its actually used as a girl's name.
Is it at least an old-fashioned girl's name?
Like, calling men "Dick" died out about the time that bit of slang came to the fore...
My mother would find my tagline appalling. Even though she curses a lot.
But she doesn't get the "Wire" thing either.
TV is part of it, here, sure. The first time I heard Keith Olbermann call something "crap" on "Countdown", I almost posted about it. Even though I had heard the word about a billion times when that happened, and he was right.(Whatever) was complete crap. But he said it on the news...OMG. Like hearing it from your favorite teacher.
I hate it when my dad curses in front of me though, cause it is a total sign he is mad at me and hostile. He is generally quite insanely proud of his lack of cussing.

This makes FANNY HILL a REALLY appropriate name.
Also, halfway hoping Mom's around when I meet Corwood and call out "Hey, you Austin cocksucker!" even though she won't get that either.
