Not javachik

OMG there is some kind of really loud machine doing god-knows-what-down the hall, and it stinks. This has been a spectacularly unproductive day (except for a nice lunch with consuela), which is to say, time to go home early to get away from the smell and noise.

Time to go home and get caught up on Jericho!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Comment in Cary Tennis' column on Salon:

I've noticed this: The guys who are afraid and nervous, it's about their dads. And the guys who are dramatic and needy, it's about their moms.

Is this general knowledge? Conventional Wisdom?

Obviously a generalization but does it ring true or run counter to personal experience?

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

If there's a better sound than a baby laughing, I don't know what it is.

Weekend plans: Write, sing in choir Sun. a.m., watch Oscars. Hope our laptop comes back from the mothership soon, because this whole sharing a computer thing just doesn't work, not with a web developer working on a freelance gig married to a writer who's feeling behind on her current manuscript.

Cutie gigglyhead D! Washcloths make our two giggle as well. Magic?

Oh, you people and your sharing of things like Etsy. [link] (it's cooler looking on the mannequin's neck, but it won't link directly to that one) Oh, dear. It comes in brass, too. [link]

Uh-huh. Because I need an octopus necklace? I mean, I don't, and I won't, but now I know it's there, and it looks so neat. And I think I'm about to waste a whole lot of time just browsing around. Man.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Colin's buying a new house--I may go look at that. But it's in Eagle Rock, so I may not.

If you do make it out here, call. We will be home most the weekend packing boxes and we'll need extra hands to hold baby.

Allyson, are you available sometime this weekend?

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I'm available all day sunday.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It'd be late Sunday afternoon if I get out there, Kat. I certainly hope to see you.

Those earrings are all lovely.

I haven't yet found my one true Etsy blouse. Although the shirt with the weapons did show up. It's a start. Just not a work-appropriate one.

Trust my rage

And the guys who are dramatic and needy, it's about their moms.

When I'm feeling crabby, I would describe my husband this way. And it's definitely about his mom - she left when he was 3-4 and he has a rotten step-mother. So, at least in my experience, it's true.
