Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

What happens if you go home sick right now?

Tempting! I may go home a few hours early, if only for a nap.

At least it looks like the latest thing people want me to do is, in fact, impossible. I feel validated.

FYI. Which is awesome, but only once you know that's what's going to happen.

Yeah, this is what I'm afraid of. Grrr. I know when the postman comes, but not the UPS people! Plus I'm worried because my buzzer doesn't work, and i had to put a little "call this number" sign up, that they'll just be like "Screw it" and leave a "we tried to deliver!" note.

not your mom's socks.

ok, ni-hao kai-lan is really spooky if your kid is already dora-patterened. SHe's in the other room saying "Xie_Xie" and a whole bunch of other gook. I can hear this over the cowbell.

... and now I'm going to hang up on the cowbell.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's great news, Kristin!

re: Cash's shirt - Tatts!

(a red eye--coffee w/ triple shot of espresso)

Some coffeehouse I was at called this a Kervorkian. I had one, while out late with friends. And amused them all by falling asleep within a half hour.

Great news, Kristin! We have a vet friend who amputated her own cat's front leg for something similar, and changed it's name to Abby for abnormal. She's a big happy tripod cat.
