My pet peeve is people not having their wallet out and ready when they get to the cashier. Dude, you were waiting in line to PAY--don't you think you could assume you would need to get at your money or credit card?

There's an assumption of acquaintance, by means of shared minority. So all the black guys on my floor at work had at least said "hello" to me in my first week, and there are many white guys here who'll never say a thing. I know where they are, they know where I am.

Nothing cracks me like people who stand in a long line at a counter and only start to look at the menu when it's they're time to order.
The farmer's market here would make most of you into murderers. It's a rabbit warren of rooms in a old brewery. No discernible lines. People stop and talk in tight areas where people are trying to get through. They swing their baguettes with no concern for others. If I don't get there before 9AM, I just don't go.
