Seriously, when the LiveJournal team rickrolls all of LJ in a fake news post, I'd say that's the exact moment the meme is OVER.
Next, your dad!
Ahrg. My HR loves to use me for audits. It's good they don't think I am strange or offputting and trust me to not freak out the auditors or get all anti-authority rantycakes (seriously, there are a few who do that!) , but really, it's such a dubious honor.
Well she somehow managed to just cut a few layers in the front of her hair where it curls a bit. But we are talking about 2 inches or so trimmed off, so I'm still voting on lucky.

Yup. A giant shitstorm.
I am not applying for jobs (well, not exactly--I just exchanged emails with a couple contacts) from work, but I'm sore tempted to do my taxes from here. Mostly because I don't have a Windows machine at home right now, which is silly. I'm sure I could do TurboTax.com in a non-IE non-Windows platform.
But I won't do taxes from here. Work ethic (where'd that come from?) aside, I was out sick yesterday, and my inbox is making tsk-tsk noises at me.

Impressive!
Like what? All I've seen this morning were about a million rickrolls.
I haven't been rickrolled at all!
I am probably just being massively oversensitive, so I'm not going to point fingers.
Completely randomly, just a note for future F2F events: I'm fairly certain that some year we will need a meara vs. Hil cupcake bake-off.
Vibing job-vibes at Kat and Vortex and Aimée. My own situation is starting to look mildly less grim: Having heard nothing back from Job A in over a week, I went ahead and interviewed for less-desirable but more-available Job B yesterday (insert here long-winded Brian Krakow metaphor about wallpaper here); came home to an email from Job A Woman asking me to call her at my earliest convenience.
Called her; she said that for reasons having nothing to do with me they're hiring someone else for Job A, but that I'm a great candidate and they don't want to lose me, so she wants to bring me in later this week to interview for Jobs C and D, which haven't even been officially posted on the HR website yet. So now I have one interview scheduled for early Thursday evening and I'm waiting to hear about the other. If my unemployment check would just finally come through, I might even start to breathe again.
I promised the kids I'd help them make cookies today. THey want sugar cookies, so I better go make the dough now so it has time to chill.
