Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Aren't all Doritos vegan? I mean, I know a lot are cheese-flavored, but I never dreamed actual cheese was used in their manufacture.

Yep. Doritos and Cheez-Its and most other cheese-flavored snack things do use actual cheese. Well, cheese powder, kind of like the packet in Kraft mac and cheese.

Our wings are not tired.

Yeah. If you DIDN'T like the Beatles and found some fellow freak that didn't like the Beatles that might be something.

Eggsactly.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Yay! I just called the movers and got on the schedule.

Check.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I got to meet my future meal of chicken once. I decided to patronize my local fresh chicken store. (I was wrong in my assumption that fresh meat would be tastier. It was really stringy.) I didn't know the shop keeper was going to go in the back, get a live chicken, and hold it up to me to make sure it was acceptable. It wasn't too disturbing except they plucked it, chopped it up and put it in a bag for me and I didn't find out until I got home and was preparing for dinner that they had included the head.

So I'm looking at the refrigerator I want to buy, and I see the following product review:

Kenmore Fridge 18.2, May 18, 2007 By VickyH from Terre Haute, IN

"We needed a second refridgerator just to hold liquids (soda, water, milk, etc.) and this fit perfectly in our basement. What I liked about Sears and this product is that you can choose what side you want the door on. I never knew you had an option. The delivery people were soooo nice and they were very quick in setting it up. They even took the old one away. I didn't have to lift a finger. I like that. The product works great and is really quite large. The freezer is big too. We liked it so much we bought one for my brother-in-law (he's a bum and has no money). And he reallly likes it. I think all he keeps in it is beer, but that's ok, it works, he likes it and he's stopped coming over here. I highly recommend this product. Thanks."

Seriously?????

I think VickyH may have been holding some liquids when she wrote that review.

I think VickyH may have been holding some meth when she wrote that review.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Hmmm, I bought one of those Laura's Lean Meat grass-fed cattle steaks to cook tonight, and it was much tastier than supermarket steaks usually are. Happy cows may be the way to go.

Yay Allyson!

So neighborgirl T's spring break was last week. Her school got her signed up for a tour of colleges (mostly, historically black but not exclusively.) So she spent the week driving down in a bus to Florida, hitting schools in VA, NC (maybe Georgia) and FLA, culminating in a trip to Universal and Disneyworld. She called to tell me all about it. She wants to go to one of the Florida schools ("they have PALM TREES everywhere!") because it has the best pre-med program. She knows cause she asked about it at every school.

I'm so proud of her, because she can be such a shy thing, and here she was, 13, travelling without parents for the first time, meeting with college students and profs, and yet she overcame the shyness because she wanted it so bad.

I need to find a way to support programs like this because for so many kids like her and her peers here in city schools, college is so much not even an option they don't even dream about it. And she's one of the lucky ones because she's got a dad who is determined she'll go to college because he didn't.
