What you did to me was unbelievable, Connor. But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M.C. Escher perspective, but I did get time to think.

Plei, the blue of her eyes + the blue of the water and the sky is great. What a cool picture.

Okay. Back to throwing stuff away.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hi Liese! Are you posting from home?

Yes! For the first time ever!

The house looks gorgeous, Kat. That's going to be awesome for you.

You may be mildly crazy for the party. But if you have help with the move, you should be able to pull it off. We aren't close to our housewarming party yet (to which you are all invited), but we have extenuating circumstances. First, still waiting on some furniture. Second, we moved slowly, by ourselves. Third, it is so muddy. We're going to wait until a little later in spring so it's warmer and we can use the deck for the bash.

Not to volunteer anyone, but there are plenty to help. I wish I were one of those close enough.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

New houses, yay!

New roommate - yay? Friend is in town for a 2 month interim position. They're being cagey about putting her up (not shifty, just non-profit). If it goes perm she'll get a place, of course, but for 8 weeks, her options will be limited if they don't come through. So, um, yeah.

Brenda, you're a good friend.... 2 months is whoa.

sara, you should come in march to unpack! and see the one-year-olds!

The movers would be more to help with thing like washer/dryer/refrigerator/couch/bed/crib/dresser. Ugh. Don't know what to do. We're getting quotes from different movers (including Flat Rate Movers, and what might be the gayest movers ever: [link]

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Kat, we used Hollywood Movers and they were fast and careful.

You should see the size of my place, too. But it's not for sure, and she'd be working a fair amount of nights anyway, so. I leaned on some good friends when I first moved here so I figure I'm due.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, that's the biggest thing. The SO ended up getting the third friend-with-a-truck for our big bookshelf that we kyped when they were tearing down the old school library back at the church compound in NM. First friend-with-a-truck got sick and had a snowstorm, second friend-with-a-truck got nixed on the schedule, probably by the wife. Third friend-with-a-truck not only came out promptly, but drove through a flooded road and down an incredibly muddy street for us. And the friend-without-a-truck did a bunch of glopping through that self-same mud for the rest of the large items that could be moved in our van.

Moving sucks. I am so glad to be done with the actual moving part of moving. The putting things away part I like much better. And especially the whole living in the new house part.

I'd love to come out there (I've honestly been thinking about it,) but the next few months are serious crunch time at work. I mentioned a mental health day to someone who shares my duties and she looked totally panicked.

And um, I hate moving (been in the same apt for a decade, peoples. And it is ok, but not that great!) I was once glad when I had to have an emergency brake job when I was supposed to help someone move. I'm good at babies, though!
