Compassionately intolerant

From Susan's link...how about the contrast of these two quotes:

Jon Stewart: To see the human cost is part of the equation.

Bush: Iraq Violence A Necessary Part Of Development

I love Jon Stewart, perhaps more than any other celebrity influence ever. Which is saying a lot considering how moved I've been by folks like (the real) Patch Adams and George Clooney.

eta: Who's Pat Adams? sheesh.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I love Applebee's. I hate ringworm.

I also deal with Mom Issues.

Kathy, I'm glad your mom got your message. I hope it makes your visit a lot more fun.

I think I'm lucky that my family isn't in my business about my weight and they are supportive and loving without judging my size. My sisters are all TEENY (as in size 6 or smaller) so my size issues are my own--they do not try to make me feel any less for being a size 16, bless them.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

This is interesting. Someone else invented sound recording nearly two decades before Thomas Edison. Only problem was, the technology didn't allow playing the recording. Except now it can be played, thanks to Science!

Researchers Play Tune Recorded Before Edison

It's kind of freaky listening to a recording made in 1860....

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

It's costly and extremely disruptive to implement, but it gives managers the warm fuzzies, because it makes them feel like they're actually managing.

Wouldn't it be better for everyone to just give the managers a nice set of toy soldiers?

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

In an effort to hate the world a little less, I went outside into the sunshine and promptly was screamed at by one of the people who direct traffic because I was halfway through the crosswalk when the walk sign started blinking. Then I got to Macy's and wandered around aimlessly trying to find where they kept their Aerosoles. When I found them, they didn't have the shoe I wanted to try on available in the store. Fine, whatever. I went back to my office. Checked my personal e-mail, which was just not the right move, because now I really, really want to claw out someone's eyeballs.

Coding and Sleeping

You seem a bit stressed, maybe you could think about your happy place.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I had a shake with lunch. That helped.

I'm about to get the office checked for a poltergeist, though.

I think shrift's happy place may include clawing out someone's eyeballs.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

ION I just had chik-fil-a. Little deep-fried nuggets of crack.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I am unmoved by the allegedly cute puppy. It looks bug-eyed to me.

Now this is a cute puppy.
