I had an eventful evening. While working at the bookstore, I managed to turn wrong on the stool I was sitting on, and the whole thing collapsed under me, and I whacked my head on a shelf behind me as I went down to the floor. A nice lump on the back of my skull has resulted, but no blood, and icing it for the first 90 minutes after I bumped it (in between ringing up customers) took care of the initial ache.

Then, when I came home, I was all fumble fingers and managed to drop my cat's earthenware food dish and shatter it. She's having to eat from some Tupperware until I get to PetSmart tomorrow to replace it.

Kathy! Oh, my goodness. Are you watching for signs of a concussion? I don't know what they are, exactly, but... well, don't have one, would be the best choice. Go with that. Can you take a pain reliever?

Sorry you fell; that's just no good.

Sorry about the dish, too, but mostly sorry about your head, which is not replaceable like the dish.

Because books.

Kathy! Sheesh, woman! Your poor head! And you've been so chatty and informative in Literary! If I had a head injury, I'd be moaning and whimpering.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Well, you still sound good , Kathy.

Beth, I think your Oc is cute. Is he anatomically correct?

Well, there are 8 legs - but one is hidden in the picture. When you are dealing with the preschool world you never know. One kid only had 4 legs on his, until his mother convinced him 8 was better. And a girl had atleast 12 legs on her's. I decided preschoolers like mutant Octopi.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yes, Kathy--fumble finger after head whacking. Take care!

Actually, it doesn't really hurt that much, just throbs a bit. My neck is a bit sore (maybe a touch of whiplash from my head hitting the shelf), but that's it. I called my mom (a nurse) when I left work after we closed and asked about going to sleep tonight, and she thought I'd be all right. If I'm nervous, I should set my alarm for three hours after going to bed, which I might do just to make sure I wake up.

I've whacked my head a few times , very hard. The doctor's have always said that my thick hair saved me. So,there is a reason for longer hair.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.
